Overview

Cafe One, located at 322 Moggill Rd in Indooroopilly, offers a welcoming spot for those seeking a casual café experience near the local shopping precinct. Its proximity to a children's play area makes it especially convenient for parents looking to enjoy quality coffee and light bites while keeping an eye on little ones.

The café’s menu features standout coffee selections such as the rich cappuccino and smooth flat white, both praised by frequent visitors. Alongside these, the Raspberry Friand provides a lightly sweet treat that complements the beverage choices well. For sharing, options like Cafe One Chips and Nachos bring a comfortable, snackable element to the table, while the Bao Bar’s Side Chips and housemade sweets — including Byron Bay Cookies and freshly baked scones — add to the café’s approachable, homely feel.

Customer experiences vary, but there is consensus around the friendly and polite service, which enhances the overall atmosphere despite occasional critiques. Some patrons note that food portions tend to be smaller and that some dishes, such as scrambled eggs and smashed avocado, suffer from underwhelming flavor or dryness. However, others appreciate the relaxed ambiance and find the food and coffee combination satisfying enough to recommend a visit.

The space itself is functional, leaning more towards family-friendly than fine dining, with a lively buzz influenced by nearby play areas. The casual setting may not suit those seeking a quiet café escape but fits well for shoppers and parents aiming for a convenient, quick, and social stop.

In summary, Cafe One serves well-crafted coffee in a straightforward environment, anchored by a menu that balances light meals and sweet options suitable for sharing or solo enjoyment. While it may not deliver gourmet brunch experiences, it comfortably meets the needs of its local audience with pleasant service and a practical location.

For a casual coffee meet-up or a simple bite near Indooroopilly’s retail hub, Cafe One is worth considering, especially if you value a friendly atmosphere and coffee quality alongside modest food offerings.

For the pricing the food and drinks were not worth the price. The scrambled eggs had little taste, the same with the smashed avo. No juice options. Little atmosphere. Staff were happy and polite but not well dressed. Also you could hear the staffs conversation.

Cafe is located outside target. The coffee here is usually good, the food is tasty but not the biggest portions as mentioned in other reviews. It is right next to a children’s play area, which would suit parents, but can get a little loud.

Food was ok. Not terrible but very average. Eggs were dry and not moist. My partners sandwich was a little over toasted. Nice chef and staff.

We dropped in for brunch and ordered an open sandwich and toasted sandwich with coffees. The toasted sandwich could have been toasted a little longer as the cheese hadn’t melted. Otherwise, we loved the ambience, customer service, price, food and coffee. It’s certainly worth a visit.

Tuna sandwich and hot choc were yum- but $10 for sandwich seems a little steep. Toasted ham and cheese- is more like sandwich made with toast- rather than a toastie. Also it’s the yucky kind of ham and toast wasn’t buttered. ($10 for sandwich and coffee is a good deal). They also do a discount for seniors and centre staff but I forgot to ask so no idea what the discount actually is. Free bubbly water is a plus!

My second visit here I ordered a hot chai tea around 2pm only to be charged extra for a chai latte. Waiter was confused, and my order came out later than someone who had ordered after me. I was given a chai latte and not chai tea even though I had told the waiter at my table and also did not receive a number for my table despite saying I was dining in. I guess since I paid for a chai latte, they gave me a chai latte anyway even though I said chai tea two or three times. Since it wasn’t rectified after repeating myself, I didn’t argue and just took what I was served (because chai latte is one of my go-to hot drinks but I really wanted to have something different this time). Nice comfy cafe set-out but stained couch. Customer service could be improved to be clear of orders because I was unexpectedly charged a little extra for something I didn’t want which was made and served anyway. $4.90 for a standard/small chai latte too hmm is a bit costly compared to other places. Would’ve liked it more with power-points.
